HENDRA HOLIDAY PARK in Newquay is celebrating the news that it has won TripAdvisor’s highest accolade, the Travellers Choice Award for 2020.
Presented annually tourism businesses, the Travellers Choice Award is based on millions of reviews and opinions from travellers around the globe.
The awards, says TripAdvisor, reflect “the best of the best” for service, quality and all-round customer satisfaction.
Hendra Holiday Park director, Jon Hyatt, said: “Everyone here is very proud that we have been awarded the TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award for 2020.
“This just shows that all of the hard work, planning and extra measures that we have put in place haven’t gone unnoticed by our guests.
“This wasn’t quite the year we had initially planned for, but we have adapted well and introduced lots of new measures on the park tors safe.
“At the same time we are still fully committed to our guests – and this award is very much the result of a team effort,” said Jon.
A recent guest departure survey at Hendra saw the park voted 9.5 out of 10 for its COVID safe and secure policies.
Earlier this year, the family-owned business was named as Britain’s Holiday Centre of the Year by the AA in its latest annual Caravan and Camping Awards.
Awards given by the AA – based on guest reviews and a “secret shopper” visit by inspectors – are regarded as the Oscars of the holiday parks industry.
The park’s facilities, services and levels of hospitality all went under the microscope – and each was found to meet or exceed the platinum standard on every level.
The park first started welcoming camping guests in 1972, and today provides a wide range of attractions including a pools complex, professional entertainment and family activities.
