Devon park makes fitness fun with new £250k play zone

YOUNGSTERS staying at a Devon holiday park, Ladram Bay, have been provided with a £250,000 play area designed to promote both fitness and fun.

And powering the new facility into action this this month was TV personality Josie Gibson, a former Big Brother winner who is also a qualified personal trainer.

Josie, who lives in Bath, officially declared the play area open during a special visit she paid ton.

The raft of different challenges on offer, said Josie, was a fantastic way for kids to get the benefits of outdoor exercise whilst letting off steam in the fresh air.

Family-owned Ladram Bay said it decided to create one of Devon’s most exciting play opportunities:

Kids can also let rip in Ladram Bay Holiday Park’s exciting splash zone

“Mums and dads know that kids get their biggest thrills from being active, so we went all out for the best possible experience,” said park director Zoe House.

“The play area includes tunnels and an obstacle course, a multi-level adventure frame, wobbly bridges, slides and a pirate ship on which youngsters can clamber.

“It’s enormous fun, but also encourages the development of physical flexibility and decision-making skills, as well as helping our younger guests to socialise with each other.

“It was great that Josie was able to come along and cut the ribbon as she knows well the importance of keeping active, and has made her own fitness videos,” said Zoe.

The play area joins a host of other have-a-go activities at Ladram Bay which are designed to people of all ages and abilities.

They include an indoor climbing wall with professional instructors, an indoor swimming pool and outdoor splash zone, inflatable archery, and an adventure golf course.

Ladram Bay’s private beach also give the chance for burning off calories in the waves, or hiring a kayak or paddle board to explore further along the dramatic coast.

Owned by the Carter family for over 75 years and the winner of multiple awards, Ladram Bay provides holiday caravans and lodges touring guests.

“Creating the play area and installing all of the equipment was a major project, but we’re delighted that our guests are now able to make the most of it!” said Zoe.
