Family gives warm welcome to its new Yorkshire park

Maguires Country Parks says its new acquisition is a perfect complement to the other parks in its portfolio

THE FAMILY behind a select group of North East holiday parks says it is “proud and delighted” top-rated North Yorkshire park business.

Maguires Country Parks announced this month its acquisition of Topcliffe Country Park in the Vale of York, formerly known as Swaleside Holiday Park.

It brings to eight the number of parks now owned by the Maguire family who started out in business 40 years ago, developing parks aimed at the quality holiday market.

Their portfolio now includes one of North Yorkshire’s most highly-regarded park destinations, located on the banks of the River Swale near the picturesque village of Topcliffe.

It offers holiday home ownership opportunities in extensive landscaped grounds which include more than two acres of woodland and one of the best fishing stretches of the Swale.

The acquisition was transacted with legal advice provided by northern law firm Square One Law, and tax advice provided by Clive Owen LLP.

Billy Maguire Snr, business owner, said that Topcliffe Country Park was a perfect complement top-rated holiday parks:

“Topcliffe has been carefully and beautifully developed over the years by a family who, like us, are committed tomers,” he said.

“The location is absolutely stunning, and a perfect retreat for those seeking tranquil surroundings for breaks and longer stays throughout the four seasons.

“There are gorgeous walks in the nearby Hambleton Hills, and the Yorkshire Dales and James Herriot country are also on the doorstep – so you can see why we are so thrilled!” said Billy.

Maguires Country Parks, all graded five-star by Visit England, are based in quiet rural locations in Northumberland, County Durham and North Yorkshire.

They have also received the prestigious David Bellamy Conservation Award at its top gold level for the many environmental and wildlife projects carried out by the family.

“Even during the present lockdown we’ve been receiving an escalating number of enquiries from people wanting to book holidays and find out about ownership,” said Billy.

“Now we’re just hoping that parks will soon be given the green light to provide just the type of escapes everyone needs and deserves.”
