Team effort: at the awards ceremony, Ladram Bay was described by judges as “a true leader” of SW parks

LADRAM BAY Holiday Park in Budleigh Salterto stay at November’s Devon Tourism Awards.

Ladram Bay clinched the premier gold accolade in the Holiday Park of the Year category, beating scores of other eligible parks to the title.

In delivering their verdict, judges declared that Ladram Bay was “a true leader of holiday parks in the South West.”

Their announcement was made at the sparkling finals of the closely-fought competition, held at the Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay.

The Devon Tourism Awards is marking its tenth anniversary, and this year’s event was attended by senior tourism leaders from across the county.

Ladram Bay’s private beach is just one of its many attractions for holiday guests

In order to a close scrutiny of its business by professional assessors.

The park’s facilities, services, accommodation and hospitality all went under the microscope – and, reported Devon Tourism, were all fully deserving of the principal honour.

A former farm which has been welcoming holiday guests since 1943, Ladram Bay is still today under the ownership of the enterprising Carter family.

As well as outstanding sea views and private beach, guests have use of many attractions such as an indoor climbing, swimming pool and splash zone, and adventure golf course.

There’s also a restaurant and take-away, a beach-side shack where watersports equipment can be hired, and first-class day and evening family entertainment.

Ladram Bay provides a wide range of luxury holiday caravans and holiday lodges torhomes and tents.

Ladram Bay director Zoe House, who is a member of the Carter family, said that being named as Devon’s premier park was “a fantastic honour”:

“Visito Devon have the choice of some the very finest holiday parks in the whole of Britain, as well as world-beating scenery and glorious beaches,” she said.

“To be named as the county’s leading park on which to the memorable experiences which guests enjoy.

“A big part of that experience is the friendly warm atmosphere for which we are renowned, and our loyal and hardworking employees deserve great credit for helping us deliver this,” said Zoe.

It’s the second time the park was celebrating in November as, earlier in the month, it scooped the top Diamond Award for Family Fun in Devon and Somerset at the Hoseasons Awards.

It’s the ninth year in succession that the park has taken the overall regional family fun trophy from the holiday bookings giant at its annual awards.

The award is based on the number of customer votes received over the year by Hoseasons from families staying on hundreds of parks throughout the UK.
