Beverley Holidays in Devon has issued a plea for general knowledge buffs to come forward and help it create a new record for the largest ever simultaneous quiz.
The multi-award winning Paignton park will be participating on Friday 24 February in a national brain-teasing challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Now in its ninth year, the Macmillan Mammoth Quiz will be joined for the first time by Beverley Holidays – and the park is hoping to make a big impact.
That’s why it is inviting both holidaymakers and local residents to gather in its popular Starlight Cabaret Bar at 7.00pm, shortly before the questions start flying.
A team of park staff will be competing in the challenge, and it’s hoped that plenty of other guests will join them to help swell the funds.
The Macmillan Mammoth Quiz has already created one Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous quiz, and this year’s event could even top that.
Head of entertainment at Beverley Holidays, Drew Baker, promises a great night out for everyone:
“We’re very much looking forward to be playing a part in this fantastic fundraising initiative,” said Drew.
“As well as raising plenty of smiles among those joining us, we are also hoping to raise stacks of cash for a really great cause.
“The doors are open to people of all ages, and by the end of the night I hope we will all have played our part in creating another Guinness World Record,” he added.
In November last year, Drew was crowned as overall winner in the custo the prestigious title.
Tickets for Beverley Holidays’ Macmillan Mammoth Quiz are £5.00 for adults and £2.00 for children under 16, and all ticket proceeds will be donated to Macmillan.
