Park Holidays UK acquired by Sun Communities, Inc.

Lakeside Holiday Park in West Sussex is among the portfolio of 42 parks operated by Park Holidays UK

SUN COMMUNITIES, the largest operator of manufactured housing and leisure communities in the USA, has reached an agreement to acquire Park Holidays UK, one of the leading holiday park operators in the UK.

Park Holidays UK has invested heavily in both the business’s park facilities and infrastructure, and in its acquisitions. The most notable of its most recent acquisitions was the purchase of nine parks from Bridge Leisure in May of this year, and which increased the group’s portfolio to 42 holiday parks and opened up new trading areas in Cornwall, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Scotland. Sun Communities, Inc. has committed to further investment in the group’s parks, including expansion through continued acquisition.

The domestic staycation industry has performed well through the pandemic and has introduced many new customers to holiday parks for both holiday breaks and caravan and lodge ownership. The outlook remains very positive and Park Holidays expects continued sustained growth in the future.

Tony Clish, Park Holidays UK’s commercial director, said: “We are delighted to be working with Sun Communities going forward, and excited about future opportunities to further invest in our parks and expand our business into new areas of the UK.”

Sun Communities, Inc., based in Michigan, is a publicly listed organisation with a long and successful track record of investing in manufactured housing, leisure and marina businesses across the USA, Canada and Australia. These include multi-site operations, such as Park Holidays UK. All are characterised by their high quality standards and commitment to customer care.
