Parks declare two-month extension to holiday year

Bright and breezy days in winter can provide a welcome out-of-season tonic, says Park Holidays UK

FAMILIES can enjoy two extra months of staycations this year – thanks to extend the opening season at almost half of its parks.

Instead of shutting as usual after this October’s half-term, the 13 seaside holiday parks will continue welcoming guests until the week before Christmas.

Park Holidays UK, one of Britain’s largest holiday park groups, says the move has been triggered by “a deluge of demand” which is showing no signs of slowing down.

Winter holidays offer the bonus of walks in the countryside without the crowds

“By keeping some of our parks open through November and December, we’ll be able tor Tony Clish.

“Weekends are proving especially popular with families with children, and weekday stays are being booked largely by couples seeking a relaxed break in quiet surroundings.

“Although many of our facilities won’t be opening, and others will be operating on reduced hours, winter can be a fantastic time for a cosy break, and top up the batteries.

“Roads, to yourself.

“Visits could be timed to get in some stress-free Christmas shopping.

“Best of all, you’ll be seeing familiar places in a new light and clothed in their often spectacular winter colours,” added Tony.

Off-season prices will apply during November and December, says Park Holidays UK, and accommodation will be available in luxury lodges and premium grade holiday caravans.

These all have super-efficient central heating and high levels of insulation, meaning families will stay snug whatever the weather is doing outside.

Four-night breaks during the extended season start from £99.00 for up to six people, and can be booked with just a £20.00 deposit.
