Mid Wales MP Ben Lake has described as “breathtaking” the sea views from a new development of pitches for motorhome guests at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park near Aberystwyth.
The Ceredigion MP was a special guest at the Llanfarian park during May’s Wales Tourism Week when he cut the ribbon to officially open the newly created pitches.
Morfa Bychan, with its own pebble beach, provides spectacular panoramas across Cardigan Bay and a range of guest facilities including a heated outdoor pool.
It has received both regional and national recognition for its quality standards including the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award for the park’s many wildlife friendly initiatives.
Present at the opening ceremony was Charles Lloyd Jones whose family business, Hillandale Caravan Parks, began over 60 years ago and owns Morfa Bychan Holiday Park.
Today, Hillandale has grown to seven award-winning holiday parks located in tranquil locations.
Also in attendance were park managers Gary and Jenny Brunt who led the development of the new pitches, all of which are generously sized with private electricity and water points.
Mr Lake commented: “The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park team should be very proud of what they have achieved with this new development.
“The finish is to an especially high standard, and the sea views are breathtaking,” he said.
Mr Lake added that the park was making a vital contribution to sustain local jobs:
“The tors each year from all over the UK and overseas,” said Mr Lake.
