Winchester park for grown-ups only wins top destination award

Peaceful surrounding, but there are plenty of different wildlife guests at Two Hoots Glamping Site

TWO HOOTS GLAMPING SITE near Winchester has been named as the top destination for people who prefer their holidays without the patter of tiny feet.

The park has been voted the Best Adult Only Site in the South East England category of this year’s prestigious Camping and Glamping Awards.

Competition judges said that business owners Shaun Ascough and his wife Michele provided guests with a “truly great experience” in high quality surroundings.

The couple’s hideaway park is located in the village of Bighton near the South Downs National Park, and plays host to a wide range of wildlife in its tranquil five-acre grounds.

Shaun said the award had come as a fantastic finale to a very busy year at Two Hoots Glamping Site which welcomed guests from across the UK and mainland Europe.

The husband-and-wife team acquired the park four years ago, and are now hoping to expand it with the addition of new luxury safari-styled holiday homes.

Its wildlife guests include hare, red squirrels, deer, pheasants, red kites and even glowworms – plus honey bees, butterflies and other pollinators attracted to its wildlife meadow.

The park provides a number of glamping options, hopefully soon to be joined by luxury safari tents

But human guests must be over eighteen years of age, said Shaun, because part of Two Hoots’ special character is maintained by its adults-only policy:

“There are lots of superb holiday parks throughout Southern England which cater for families with youngsters,” said Shaun.

“Our specialisation, though, is peaceful, quiet surroundings in glorious countryside – and we tend to attract the type of visitors who are seeking exactly that type of escape.

“Some of our guests are teachers and child care professionals, and are perhaps happy not to be reminded of their day jobs when they go away for a break.

“Others include young professionals in motorhomes and campervans, and also mature couples who just want to take it easy and enjoy the birdsong.

“We are incredibly grateful for the many amazing reviews which guests leave about the quality of our accommodation and facilities, and the standards of.hospitality.

“Our aim has always been to create truly memorable holiday experiences in an away-from-it-all setting, and I hope this latest award shows we’re going along the right lines!” said Shaun.

Two Hoots is a member of the exclusive Tranquil Parks consortium of top-rated independent adults-only parks, and is the group’s only member based in South East England.
