Capital idea takes luxury holiday homes to heart of London

Life of leisure: Willerby CEO Peter Munk and Rachel Conaghan, head of holiday home sales marketing at Park Holidays UK (centre) with colleagues at the London showcase

TWO OF THE BEST-KNOWN names in holiday home ownership joined forces this summer to show Londoners how they could be making the most of their leisure time.

Leading manufacturer Willerby and major holiday parks group Park Holidays UK took two top-spec holiday homes into the capital to demonstrate just what was now on offer.

And for three days, visitors to Southbank Centre Square near the side of the Thames were able to get a glimpse of the leisurely lifestyle already enjoyed by thousands of people.

Advisers from Willerby invited couples and families to step inside the holiday homes and see for themselves the spacious, fully equipped interiors and contemporary decor and furnishings.

And members of the Park Holidays UK team outlined the huge choice of countryside and coastal locations where the models could be sited, often less than two hours from London.

Peter Munk, CEO of Hull-based Willerby, said: “Staycations and holiday homes have been incredibly popular for many years, but there’s still relatively low ownership by Londoners.

“Yet people in the capital have quick and easy access to some of Britain’s most delightful locations and holiday parks where they can enjoy quality time with family and friends.

“That’s why we wanted to come to London to meet people living and working here, and to give them the chance to see what they’re missing out on!”

Peter also carried out a series of interviews with London-based journalists during the event, resulting in extra positive publicity about Willerby’s “wow” factor.

Park Holidays UK has invested significantly over recent years in its 55-plus UK parks, many of which are located in popular coastal and countryside areas across the South and South East.

Rachel Conaghan, head of holiday home sales marketing at the group, said: “It was great to team up with Willerby to promote holiday home ownership to Londoners, and to dispel some of the myths that still exist.

“The partnership worked very well in showcasing the quality of accommodation, and the way in which a park-based holiday home can help strike a perfect work-life balance.

“People were very impressed both with the superb quality of what Willerby provides, and the glorious locations which we can offer for regularly escaping the pressures of urban living,” said Rachel.
