MORE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS and initiatives are helping to establish Beverley Holidays in Paignton as one of the West Country’s greenest holiday destinations.

The family-run park’s latest accolades include being named this summer as a national “Plastic Free Champion” by Plastic Free Communities.

Organised by Surfers Against Sewage, the body is dedicated to urging businesses to ditch the use of single-use plastic and to stop their production for good.

Its award to Beverley Holidays recognises the strides taken by the company to fight back against plastic pollution across all areas of the park’s operation.

There was praise too for the business’s commitment to sustainable tourism from judges in the recent Torbay Weekly’s Naturally Inspiring Business Awards 2025.

Beverley was named placed among the region’s most outstanding performers in the Greener Futures category of the awards, helping to champion a greener tomorrow for all.

The glittering awards ceremony was held at The Riviera International Centre in Torquay and attended by nearly 350 VIP business including tourism providers.

And in another major step to minimise its carbon footprint, Beverley Holidays has introduced a solar-powered holiday caravan in partnership with Victory Leisure Homes.

Incorporating the latest renewable energy technologies, it is the UK’s first factory-manufactured model of its type and will reduce reliance on the grip by up to 80%.

The two-bedroom holiday caravan is equipped with a 10-panel 4kW solar system which generates clean energy, while a 5.2kW Sunsynk battery ensures efficient storage.

“The English Riviera’s natural beauty is breathtaking, and it is our responsibility to preserve it,” said Nicola Furneaux, director of Beverley Holidays.

“Living in such a stunning part of the country is a privilege, and we’re passionate about protecting it – not just for today’s guests, but for generations to come.

“This initiative is a reflection of our family’s deep-rooted values and our commitment to keeping Paignton clean and green,” added Nicola.
