Fun-loving mascots from holiday attractions across Devon gathered this month at Ladram Bay Holiday Park to prove they really are game for a laugh.
The five-star Budleigh Salterton park was the venue for this year’s Mascot Golf Championship, staged at the start of the summer school holidays.
Their sporting challenge took place on Ladram Bay’s recently opened Jurassic-themed adventure golf course, and drew crowds of excited guests.
The mascots included friendly faces from attractions such as Kents Cavern, Pennywell Farm, Crealy’s Great Adventure Park, the World of Country Life, and Seaton Tramway.
Also joining in were Ladram Bay’s own Pickles the Parrot and Ozzie the Otter.
And the park said it specially amended its clubhouse rules for the event, allowing birds of prey and pigs to participate!
After a close competition split into three groups, the winner was declared as Buddy Bear from Crealy’s Great Adventure Park.
Runner’s up were Cavog from Kents Cavern and ‘Appy Angus from the World of Countrylife, both winning their heats.
The lighthearted contest, said the park, set the scene perfectly for a summer of fun and entertainment for grown-ups and youngsters.
Ladram Bay has been a favourite of Devon visitop five-star accolade from VisitEngland and the 2016 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
Other attractions include a new swimming pool complex, restaurant, a beach-side shack where watersports equipment can be hired, and first-class day and evening entertainment.
A range of different accommodation options are available, including new glamping pods. For more information about the park, see www.ladrambay.co.uk
