Swift earns Sunday Times top performer accolade

Major holiday home and leisure vehicle manufacturer the Swift Group has been featured in a league table of Britain’s most successful and enterprising businesses.

The Yorkshire-based firm appears this month in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 awards which celebrate the UK’s top-performing private companies.

The awards are based on financial performance, and in the year to August 2015, Swift’s turnover grew by 4%, with a 17% increase in operating profit compared with the previous year.

Increases in profitability, says the Swift Group, have enabled it to make significant investments in its manufacturing technology over recent years.

These have delivered significant improvements torhomes, and raised production efficiency.

The group says it expects to see further improvements in these areas in the coming year, and reports sales turnover increasing through the introduction of new and improved ranges.

Exports have also been a significant contributo profit growth, and overseas markets now account for almost 10% of the company’s turnover.

The group was recently recognised in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 table,  highlighting mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.

Commenting on the latest award, managing directo bring about positive engineering changes, improvements in the supply chain, and lower warranty claims.

“These developments, allied with a number of new products and innovations, mean the future looks most promising,” added Mr Turner.
