Why these bell tents are chiming with Peak District lovers

Ashbourne Heights’ bell tents are proving popular with Peak District lovers seeking a new experience

A POPULAR DERBYSHIRE holiday park, Ashbourne Heights near Dovedale, is ringing the changes for families seeking a truly memorable glamping experience.

That’s because the park, located in the heart of the Peak District, is now taking bookings for breaks in one of its new bell tents, inspired by the vibe of laid-back music festivals.

But the smartly-designed tents are as far as they could be from the notion of back-to-basics camping.

Instead, Ashbourne Heights’ four-person bell tents include quality bedding and bed linen, cosy throws and cushions, matting rugs on the floor, and tasteful interior decoration.

There is also both inside and outside lighting, electrical plug sockets, and outdoor furniture for al-fresco drinks and dining, or simply chilling out in the park’s beautiful natural setting.

Starting from £125.00 a night for everybody, the price also includes a pass for guests to gain entry to the park’s facilities, including a heated indoor pool.

Spotlessly clean showers and toilets are just a short stroll away, and guests are able to get an early start to their fresh-air glamping holiday with a 2.00pm check-in on arrival day.

The park is set amid tranquil Derbyshire countryside and in easy reach of many nearby attractions

Ashbourne Heights has long been a favourite of couples and families wanting to enjoy the grandeur of the Peak District from a convenient central location.

A wide selection of low and high level walks in the surrounding countryside start from and near the park, and bike hire and horse riding are also available locally.

And if any youngsters in the party are hankering after some white-knuckle excitement, Alton Towers and Gulliver’s Kingdom are just a short drive away.

Ashbourne Heights says the new bell tents are already capturing the imagination of guests, providing the thrill of sleeping under stars but with added creature comforts and no tent to erect.

There are six tents available in total, five of which sleep up to four people and a sixth which is designed to accommodate two people.

They also make it possible for extended families to go away together for a break, and to enjoy the privacy of their own accommodation at the end of each day.

Bookings – for a minimum of two nights – are available throughout summer and autumn, but the park says demand is already strong, and dates are on a first-come, first-served basis.
