Sixteen big-hearted staff at the Omar Group are limbering up in a very good cause as they prepare to take on a mountain marathon this August
The group will face the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise cash which will help fund much-needed medical equipment for a fellow employee’s daughter.
Craig Hutley, an electrician at the Suffolk-based holiday and park homes manufacturer, is dad to Maisy who lives with SMA, a rare muscular degenerative disease.
Six-year-old Maisie is bright and happy, but will never be able to stand or walk unaided.
However, she could enjoy greater independence with the help of items such as a lightweight self-propelled wheelchair, a mobile standing frame, and a ceiling-mounted hoist.

Such specialist equipment is not available through the NHS, but Craig has dedicated much of his time to improve Maisy’s quality of life.
When Lisa Tigue, custo take part in a sporting initiative.
In almost no time, 16 Omar staff from across the firm – including company directo try and help swell funds for Maisy.
Their challenge is to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in Cumbria, and Snowden in Wales, all with a tight 24-hour timescale.
By the end of their quest they will, if successful, have chalked up 24 miles of rugged mountain climbing, around 10,000-feet of ascent, and 450 miles of driving.
Dean Westmorland, CEO of the Omar Group, said it was fantastic how staff had rallied round:
“One of the things we are most proud of at Omar is the way in which everybody here comes together and works as a team,” he said.
“Now that same spirit will be helping to the life of a little girl, and that really is something special.
“We’ll all be cheering for Lisa, Craig and the team as they take on this challenge, and wish them every success – as well, of course, as providing them with generous sponsorship,” added Dean.
The team’s progress can be followed on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #OmarPeaking – and donations will be gratefully received at www.gofundme.com/mx530g
