STAFF at a holiday parks group based in Sussex have been described as “truly amazing” after they donated a whole van-full of gifts to a Hastings food charity.
The comment was made by Dom Warren of Dom’s Food Mission after his charity was invited to collect the donations from Park Holidays UK on Bexhill Enterprise Park.
Over the past few weeks, the around 100 staff who work at the Glovers House headquarters of the firm have been creating a huge stockpile of larder items for the cause.
And when the charity arrived to receive the gifts, Dom said he was taken aback at the generosity shown by the teams who work at the firm.
The donations, said Dom, will make a huge difference to many local families and homeless folk who might otherwise have gone hungry this Christmas.
Dom’s Food Mission was founded by Dom in 2015, and has since gone on to win a number of national awards for feeding the less fortunate and making an impact on food waste.
It currently distributes over two to those in need, and prepares 6,000 meals a week using perishable ingredients donated by supermarkets and individuals.
The charity has drop-off points in Asda and Morrison’s in Hastings, and has partnerships with other local outlets including Marks & Spencer, Tesco, and Costa Coffee.
Park Holidays UK, which operates more than 40 holiday parks across the UK and is anticipating its busiest year ever in 2022, said it was proud to be associated with such a worthy cause.
