WOOD LEISURE HOLIDAY PARKS welcomed Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney to Faskally Woods Holiday Park in Pitlochry this spring to officially open the park for its first season under the ownership of the Wood family.
Faskally Woods is the latest addition to Wood Leisure’s award-winning group of Scottish holiday parks, joining Lomond Woods by Loch Lomond, Callander Woods in the Trossachs, Blairgowrie and Corriefodly in Perthshire, and Deeside Holiday Park near Royal Deeside.
The First Minister was met by business founders Colin and Margaret Wood along with their family, and invited to ceremonially cut the ribbon to mark the start of a new chapter for Faskally Woods.
The First Minister said: “I am delighted to open the new Faskally Woods Holiday Park in Pitlochry during Scottish Tourism Month. Wood Leisure is an outstanding local family company investing in Scotland.”
During his visit, the First Minister was given a tour of the park’s leisure facilities and swimming pool by Wood Leisure directors before enjoying refreshments in the park’s popular Courtyard Bar & Bistro.
Colin Wood, director of Wood Leisure, said: “Faskally has been in the trusted care of the Hay family since the 1950s, and we are proud to carry forward their legacy.
“Since we began in business over forty years ago, our mission has remained the same – to put our customers at the heart of everything we do through high standards, quality accommodation, immaculate facilities, and excellent service.”
Sarah Wood MacGregor, sales and marketing director, added: “We’re delighted to begin our first season at Faskally Woods.
“Highland Perthshire is a stunning location with so much to offer, from scenic walking and cycling trails to thrilling water sports on the Rivers Tummel, Garry, and Tay.”
Margaret Wood, director, said: “We give a heartfelt thank-you to the First Minister for visiting us at Faskally Woods and for taking the time to hear about our vision for the park.
“His kind words and good wishes meant a great deal to us,” she added.
Faskally Woods Holiday Park provides 130-plus privately owned holiday homes, almost 50 seasonal touring pitches, over 70 touring pitches, and a range of holiday homes and lodges for hire.
Wood Leisure won the “Best Holiday Park” accolade at the 2024 Scottish Hospitality Awards, and are previous winners of The Courier’s Family Business of the Year.
