Devon holiday park’s bakers rise to charity challenge

Flour festival: members of Beverley’s charity team prepare to ready, steady, bake for a worthwhile cause

STAFF at Paignton’s Beverley Holidays put the icing on the cake for Macmillan Cancer Support during its World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event this autumn.

Receptionists, entertainers and other members of the park’s charity support team all took part in a kitchen contest for the coveted title of Beverley’s Star Baker.

The cook-off resulted in both a deluge of delicious cakes – and a £395 windfall to people living with cancer.

The money was raised through sales of the oven-fresh fancies at the park’s well-attended coffee morning, including holiday guests and local residents.

Beverley’s marketing directo get stuck in with their stirring spoons:

“Everyone tom in sight!” she said.

“This has been a tremendous year for us at Beverley, so the event was as much a celebration as a chance to support a very worthwhile cause.

“We’d like to create this excellent donation for Macmillan.

“Our fundraising events throughout the year support both national and local good causes, and they wouldn’t be possible without the time and effort put in by our team,” added Claire.

Set in the heart of the English Riviera, Beverley Holidays is a family-run group of parks offering boutique holiday caravans, luxury lodges, camping and touring, and a wealth of facilities.
